Last updated: 12 January 2026
Stichting Valerentario, established in Amsterdam, attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. In this privacy policy we explain what data we collect, for what purpose and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act.
1. Who we are
Valerentario is an independent platform focused on spreading knowledge about ecology, renewable energy and agrotechnology in the Netherlands. We are registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 89234517 and are located at Keizersgracht 127, 1015 CJ Amsterdam. For questions about this privacy policy, you can contact us at info@valerentario.com.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data that you voluntarily provide through the contact form on our website, namely your name, email address and message. In addition, with your consent, we collect anonymised usage data through analytical cookies, such as page visits, device type and geographical region. We do not collect special personal data as defined in Article 9 of the GDPR.
3. Purposes of processing
The personal data you provide is used exclusively for responding to your messages and questions, sending our Eco-newsletter if you have subscribed, and improving the user experience on our website. We never use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal basis
The processing of your personal data is based on your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) or on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), namely the optimisation of our services. You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to info@valerentario.com.
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not share your personal data with third parties unless this is necessary for the provision of our services or we are legally obliged to do so. For the analysis of website usage we use Google Analytics 4, for which we have concluded a data processing agreement. The data is processed in an anonymised manner as much as possible, in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
6. Retention period
We do not retain your personal data longer than strictly necessary for the purposes for which they were collected. Contact details are deleted no later than twelve months after the last contact, unless a legal retention obligation applies. Analytical data is automatically anonymised after fourteen months.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data. You also have the right to restriction of processing, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Requests can be submitted via info@valerentario.com. We aim to process your request within thirty days. If you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or destruction. Our website uses a secure connection (TLS/SSL) and we periodically evaluate our security measures.
9. International transfers
Your data is in principle processed within the European Economic Area (EEA). If data is transferred to countries outside the EEA, this is done exclusively on the basis of adequate safeguards in accordance with Chapter V of the GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision by the European Commission.
10. Changes
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy. Any changes will be published on this page with the date of the last amendment. We recommend that you consult this policy regularly.
